Service Team | Victoria, BC
Correene and her two-year-old yellow Lab Glimmer live in Victoria, BC and are graduates of the Service Program through Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guides. Correene had both her legs amputated and uses an electric wheelchair. Glimmer helps Correene every day, but she is much more than a working dog and means the world to Correene, “Besides doing all her jobs, which gives me more independence, she also is a great companion.” Glimmer is trained to pick things up, open doors, help with laundry (taking items in and out) and to bark if Correene needs help.
Without donations, Canadians with disabilities like Correene would be unable to have this daily support in their lives, as the cost of a single Dog Guide being $25,000. “If you can donate, please donate. We depend on donations to have our life and freedoms,” says Correen.
